Follow My Journey...
It was the Fall of 1984, my first year in high school, and I started studying government and politics.  In that class, my teacher helped make politics come alive for me.  Mrs. Calvin was an African American who loved our country.  She was a member of her church choir and even sang in class.  She never told me any of her political views, but helped us explore the issues on our own.  

VCRs had just become popular and my parents had just bought one.....just in time to record the debates between Ronald Reagan and Walter Mondale.  Those debates were awesome and

helped solidify a common-sense conservative world view for me.  In fact, I can remember discussing policy on the football field where I helped persuade a classmate of the need to get Ronald Reagan elected.

Now, our country is at a pivotal time once again.  Will we move toward socialism or will we vote to keep our freedoms? Will we follow the US Constitution or try to invent a new government that the founders wouldn't recognize?
